Charles Bailus has primarily authored user manuals and correspondence to newspaper editors. Nonetheless, he does not pursue publication for financial gain or personal notoriety. A clear and dedicated vision drives his writing.
During a journey from Sydney, British Columbia, to Seattle, Washington, he experienced a moment of clarity, as if perceiving something just beyond immediate reach. In his mind’s eye, he visualized a young woman riding atop a giant snail. Despite his efforts to dispel this image, it persisted.
He interprets this vision as a potential warning, urging reflection on our persistent pursuit of a planet dominated by a single species.
In his earlier years, Mr. Bailus trained as a pilot. However, a failed emergency landing ended his flying aspirations, after which he chose a different path.
He also navigated the coastline from San Diego, California, to San Francisco, California, aboard a small racing sailboat, the Columbia Saber, powered by a four-horsepower Seagull outboard engine.
